After years of Sears and Ridgid shop vac bliss for general clean-up, bought a Festool midi I for woodworking. Bought this Bluetooth switch since my Makita track saw didn’t support Bluetooth. What I learned is, this little magic button is incredibly handy, all day long, for any clean-up chore. Whenever I need to clean up a spot, I just grab the end of the hose and the power switch is right there. No trudging over to the vacuum to turn it on, than back to the vacuum again to turn it off. Such a simple, small thing, but trust me after five minutes you’ll wonder why every vacuum isn’t designed this way. I recently put up a Jet AFS-1000 air handler on the ceiling. Grabbed the end of the hose, walked it up the ladder, rested it in one of the leader’s tool holder openings, and whenever I needed to clean up drill/screw dust it was right there - just grabbed it, pushed the button, cleaned up, button again to turn off, awesome. No up-and-down the ladder. So many other times I’ve used this, hard to explain until you have it. Pairing worked perfectly, and it has not failed once in several months. Biggest no-brainer in the history of lofty-priced Festool gear. One other tip - the anti-static hose system (both hose and vacuum must have anti-static connections) has completely solved my track saw dust problems. Regular shop vacs just don’t work, at least not in Southern California weather. I had so much dust clinging to my Ridgid hose and even to the vacuum itself, and everything else around me became statically charged as well. Got tired of getting zapped and of walking around looking like a dust magnet. Expensive, but definitely worth it.
